There are so many Boston Attractions that you could spend an entire vacation exploring this city and you still would not see it all.

Great Museums

From historic buildings such as:

  • We don't just have historic buildings here though. Did you know that the oldest commissioned ship sits in Boston Harbor?
  • She is the USS Constitution, and you can visit and learn all about her.
  • A day at a Boston Museum just can't be beat!

    Sightseeing Tours

  • Take a Boston Harbor Cruise. It is probably one of the easiest ways to see the USS Constitution. You can visit Old Ironsides and many other locations by taking one of these cruises from Long Wharf. Another wonderful Boston attraction stands close to Old Ironsides. Make sure to visit the Bunker Hill Monument, on Breed's Hill in Charlestown.
  • Be sure to check out the the Duck Tours, which are probably the most popular tour company in the city.
  • You will also find that this city has great whale watching tours as well.
  • If you plan to walk around the city, be sure to check out my picks for great Boston walking tours. A great starting place for any walking tour is Quincy Market, located between Government Center and the harbor.
  • Don't forget to wander through Boston Common, since it is America's oldest park, you can imagine just what has happened here. Just across the street from this historic garden, is the Boston Public Garden, the most beautiful garden in the whole city and is a nice Boston attraction.
  • Are you a sports fan? Make sure to spend some time at Fenway Park, you can take a tour and see parts of that most people don't get to see. It is a great Boston attraction for any baseball fan. Boston is a huge sports town. If you are visiting in April, make sure to see the Boston Marathon.
  • Any visit to this city has to include a trip to the Skywalk Observatory, located at the top of the Prudential Building, where you can see a 360-degree view of the city and the surrounding area.
  • Entertainment

  • Any day exploring Boston Attractions deserves a great evening. There are many, many great Boston restaurants for you to choose from.
  • Looking for something to do at night, there are many bars and nightclubs are all over town.
  • The Boston Pops, the summertime performances by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, are a real pleasure and are anticipated by all music lovers.
  • Make sure to catch a show at the famous Boston Opera House, a gorgeous building that hosts ballets and musicals.
  • Looking for a Broadway show? Check out the Wang Theater, home of the Boston Ballet.
  • A performance of Blue Man Group at the Charles Playhouse is simply a must-see.
  • Accommodations

    You will also find great hotels all over the city in all price ranges with various amenities. Before choosing, make sure you check out my tips on saving money on Boston hotel rooms. Whether you are looking for an inexpensive hotel, a bed and breakfast or even a luxury boutique hotel, you will find accommodations to suit your needs.

    Make sure to take a look at the Boston Harbor Hotel and the Boston Park Plaza Hotel, which are considered to be Boston's best hotels.

    Other ways to explore Boston...

    Planning any trip any trip can be stressful. Why not pamper yourself at any one of these luxurious Boston day spas? After all, you are worth it and it will make your trip even better!

    Like to go shopping? this city has many malls and shopping areas for any style. You will find antique shops, art galleries and more in every neighborhood.

    And in nearby Cambridge...

    Cambridge is just a T stop away from Boston, and there are many Boston attractions that you simply must see here. There are many things that you can't miss here either. If you want a different place to go shopping, make sure to visit the CambridgeSide Galleria, which is very close to the Museum of Science and several Cambridge hotels like the Royal Sonesta.

    The hotels in Cambridge is centrally located, and can have better deals than hotels directly in Boston. One of these hotels is the Harvard Square Hotel.

    While in the Harvard area, make sure to explore the University's wonderful museums. They are not very well known outside of the Harvard community, but they have incredible collections. If you are interested in natural history, make sure to visit the Harvard Museum of Natural History, which has a beautiful (and world famous) collection of glass flowers.

    Do you like art? Make sure to visit the Fogg Art Museum, one of three Harvard art museums. This museum has a wonderful collection that spans from the Middle Ages to the present.

    Just outside Boston...

    Looking for a nice place to spend a beautiful day? It may sound strange, but many Bostonians visit the Mount Auburn Cemetery, especially on a Spring day. It is more like a large garden than a cemetery.
