Massachusetts Beaches

Most Massachusetts beaches have vending machines and areas where food is available to purchase.

But sometimes, a picnic can be the perfect thing for a day at one of these beaches.

However, beware of the seagulls, especially on the weekends! They know where you keep your food!

Northeastern Massachusetts:

Cape Ann and the North Shore

It seems like every town on the North Shore has at least one beach. This is my favorite north of Boston.

Make sure to check out all the other beautiful beaches along the North Shore and Cape Ann coast as well.

Southeastern Massachusetts:

Plymouth County and Bristol County

There are not as many Massachusetts beaches in this area as in the Northeastern Massachusetts, but one of my favorite South Shore beaches is located here as well.

Cape Cod and the Islands:

Did you know that there are over 40 beaches on Cape Cod alone? Find out why people flock to this part of the state every summer.

Looking for another fun thing to do while visiting the Cape? Make sure to check out the Cape Cod Canal Bike Trail, it is a great way to explore more of this area while being outdoors.

Looking for something to do in the evening on the Cape? Why not go to a Cape Cod Baseball League game? Sit among the big league recruiters and watch these young athletes have their shot at a big-time career.

There are many gorgeous Martha's Vineyard beaches to choose from. Some are more popular than others, but you will not be disappointed by the one you choose.

While on Martha's Vineyard, make sure to visit the cliffs and lighthouse at Gay Head. It is one of the Vineyard's premiere attractions.

Nantucket is less-crowded than Martha's Vineyard, but its beaches are just as beautiful.

Other Beautiful Beaches

Just because you are not going to the Massachusetts shore, does not mean you can't go swimming! Cool off at any one of these freshwater beaches in Massachusetts.

One of the most popular freshwater beaches is Walden Pond. Not only can you go swimming here, but you can also go canoeing, kayaking, fishing and more.

Looking for another way to cool off?

Six Flags New England has the largest water park in all of New England, and its located right here in Agawam!
